Phronesis Intelligence Series
Practical Wisdom for the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Phronesis Intelligence is the publication and thought-framework home for David Alan Hubbard’s work on human judgment, artificial intelligence, source discipline, governed intelligence, and local-first systems.
The series asks what happens when AI moves beyond casual experimentation and becomes part of serious work: writing, planning, research support, documentation, system design, memory, ownership, and decision-making.
Core Principle
AI becomes most valuable when people remain the authority.
The work does not end when a machine gives an answer. Serious work requires review, evidence, judgment, preservation, and responsibility.
What the Name Means
What is Phronesis Intelligence?
Phronesis means practical wisdom: judgment applied in real situations. Phronesis Intelligence applies that idea to artificial intelligence by asking not only what AI can produce, but whether the result is useful, responsible, supported by evidence, suited to its audience, and still under human authority.
Human Authority
AI may assist with drafting, organizing, reviewing, and exploring ideas, but people remain responsible for what is accepted, published, implemented, or relied upon.
Source Discipline
Fluent output is not proof. Serious AI-assisted work requires checking claims, preserving evidence, and distinguishing facts from assumptions.
Governed Memory
Memory becomes useful when it is connected to context, authority, revision, and recovery rather than treated as an unmanaged pile of remembered fragments.
Durable Work
When AI output becomes part of real work, it needs structure: records, artifacts, traceability, review paths, and final human judgment.
Books in This Series
The Phronesis Intelligence Series
The series begins with the human experience of collaboration, moves into practical methods for working better with AI tools, and extends into the architecture of governed, local-first AI systems.

Book 1
What We Learned Together
A reflective account of human-AI collaboration, authorship, memory, responsibility, and practical judgment.
The first volume examines what sustained work with AI revealed about authority, continuity, source discipline, and the human role in machine-assisted work.

Book 2
After the Prompt
A practical guide to working better with ChatGPT and commercial artificial intelligence tools after the first response appears.
This book focuses on context, questioning, review, source discipline, privacy, authorship, workflow design, and final human authority.

Book 3
Practical Wisdom in the Machine
A founder-led account of FridayLocalAI, governed intelligence, local-first systems, memory, traceability, and human authority.
The third volume asks what serious AI systems need beyond model capability: ownership, recoverable decisions, source discipline, artifacts, and governed infrastructure.
From Books to Systems
FridayLocalAI is the platform expression of these ideas.
The books explain the thinking. FridayLocalAI is the local-first AI workbench being developed from that thinking.
Where the Phronesis Intelligence Series explores practical wisdom, human authority, source discipline, memory, and governance, FridayLocalAI brings those concerns into software: conversations, prompts, artifacts, records, models, and local-first control arranged around serious work.
PhronesisIntelligence.com is the publication and framework hub. FridayLocalAI.com remains the product and platform destination.

Phronesis Intelligence names the series, framework, and practical-wisdom discipline.
FridayLocalAI is the governed local-first workbench being built from that discipline.
Practical Wisdom in the Machine is the founder-led book that connects the architecture, philosophy, and development journey.
